The Mooncup is a bell shaped menstrual cup around two inches long and made from soft silicone rubber. It is worn internally and forms a seal with your vaginal walls allowing your menstrual fluid to pass into the Mooncup without leakage or odour.
The Mooncup will hold an ounce of fluid, which is roughly one third of the average total produced each period. You will probably find that you need to empty your Mooncup less frequently than you currently replace towels or tampons.
"you are a god !!! 3 days after using my mooncup for the first time and i want to tell the world what they are missing out on !! i keep forgetting i'm even on my period ! i was dubious at first but now i love it and am never letting it go!! thank you sooo much!
I 'm telling as many as possible, i have posted a thread on the forum I regularly visit, and am telling all my friends. more people should know about this, i want them to know it's possible to actually enjoy having a period !!" - angel leaf, July 15, 2003
The Mooncup menstrual cup contains no bleaches, deodorisers or absorbency gels. It does not interfere with your healthy vaginal environment, nor has it been associated with toxic shock syndrome.
