The Mooncup

The Mooncup is a bell shaped menstrual cup around two inches long and made from soft silicone rubber. It is worn internally and forms a seal with your vaginal walls allowing your menstrual fluid to pass into the Mooncup without leakage or odour.

The Mooncup will hold an ounce of fluid, which is roughly one third of the average total produced each period. You will probably find that you need to empty your Mooncup less frequently than you currently replace towels or tampons.

"you are a god !!! 3 days after using my mooncup for the first time and i want to tell the world what they are missing out on !! i keep forgetting i'm even on my period ! i was dubious at first but now i love it and am never letting it go!! thank you sooo much!
I 'm telling as many as possible, i have posted a thread on the forum I regularly visit, and am telling all my friends. more people should know about this, i want them to know it's possible to actually enjoy having a period !!" - angel leaf, July 15, 2003

The Mooncup menstrual cup contains no bleaches, deodorisers or absorbency gels. It does not interfere with your healthy vaginal environment, nor has it been associated with toxic shock syndrome.

(Vegan) An alternative to tampons.

The Mooncup menstrual cup costs £18.49. You will probably spend this in six months on disposable feminine hygiene products.
Your Mooncup will last for at least ten years, and you are investing in an ethical product which is concerned with your personal health and the well being of our planet

Please note that because the vaginal muscles of a woman before childbirth are firmer, the Mooncup is available in two models:
A. for women who have given birth vaginally and all other women over 30
B. for women under 30 who have not given birth

When placing your order, please ensure that you request the correct model.

"Just had to e-mail to say thanks for my mooncup. This is my third month and you CANNOT have it back!! I've told all my friends about it & can't say enough about how much more convenient it is - PLUS I think my period is over more quickly and easily (or is that just because I'm spared the embarrassment of either trying to slip tampons in my pocket or have men say why are you taking your bag to the toilet?' (no, really, it happened to me a lot!). Good for the planet, good for me, good for you for selling them - thank you!" - Ruth

How easy is it to use the Mooncup Menstrual Cup?
Correctly inserted, the Mooncup is so comfortable that you will forget it exists. It may take a little practice at first as you need to find the angle and position that is right for you.

Once you have perfected it you will be amazed at how simple the Mooncup is to use. You will need to empty, rinse or wipe and reinsert your Mooncup every four to twelve hours depending on your flow. The fluid remains inside the cup, and the process is not messy or uncomfortable.

The Mooncup can safely be used overnight and is great for all sports, swimming and travelling.

"I LOVE my Mooncup! I found it quick, convenient and easy to use (I think the trick is definately to aim towards the small of the back when inserting) and comfortable to wear. I'M FREE! I'M FREE! It doesn't leak or smell and I don't go to the loo and then think "damn I should've brought a tampax in with me" or get up in the morning and think "now I must fill my pockets with tampax" if I'm going out! The great thing is, once you've got it in, you've got it with you! Love it! Thanks! More women should know about this..." - Sue S
